Before we ever sang our first song or traveled to our first “date” there was a ministry in each of our lives and that ministry came from our relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, there could not be real ministry without this relationship. There is power in our individual ministries, but when united we became stronger. So, our individual ministries have come together to become one voice, whose purpose is to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” With this truth our ministry was established.
Why the name Inheritance? There are two reasons we chose this name. First, our heritage is very important; it has provided the foundation on which our lives were shaped. We each were preceded by a host of preachers, musicians and prayer warriors in our families, which set each one of us on the path that would lead us to the Lord. Second, the heritage passed down to us by our forefathers, is the truth set forth in Scripture. The Bible says in Ephesians 1:11 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” You see, God himself has provided an inheritance through His son Jesus Christ. When we believe on Him we receive our inheritance, which is everlasting life. You can receive this inheritance too, by simply asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and giving your life to him. So, we received an inheritance from our families…they proclaimed the Gospel and sang about it and prayed because of it…and God gave us an inheritance…free for the asking…which is eternal life. We have our ministry because of our family’s dedication to the Lord, which is because of the inheritance they received from our heavenly Father! By choosing the name Inheritance we are honoring those who have gone before us and proclaiming that we too have received our inheritance and pass it on to our children, grandchildren and all who are searching for the truth.
Melinda and I have dedicated our lives to this ministry, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ through our music, testimonies and preaching. We pray each day that this work is effective and true to its purpose…Spending countless hours searching for songs that will bring the Gospel message to you. Through our rehearsals we work to perfect our harmony, our “family blend” all in as effort to attain the “sound” that will lift you up from your gloom and despair…that will stir your heart to singing praises to the Lord. This is our ministry, the work we are pledged to do for the rest of our lives. Not to become famous or to have a number one song, but because Jesus loved us so much that he died for us. This “Agape” love did not require anything from us, not even to love him back, he just loved us and gave his life that we could have life and true joy. So, we will sing…and testify…and preach until He comes…this is our Inheritance. Have you received your Inheritance?
